New AMD Phenom

One thing i've been waiting for is the new AMD cores.
Phenom II x6.
The 1090T is said to perform up to the likes of the Intel i7 975.
Now, heres where common sense plays a role.
The intel 975 costs $1300.
The AMD 1090T costs $300.

Hmm?

Also in addition with the new 890x motherboards making the combination faster than an i7/x58 combination that was previously the fastest.
Everything is cheaper, and by god is it fast.
Of coarse intel still owns the cup for the fastest CPU being the I7 Extreme, but that also comes with an extreme price tag.

I will have to look into the constant AMD/Intel war and see who does hold the crown now that the Phenom x6's are in the open world.

The crown can only go to one that doesn't hold a $1,000 dollar price tag on a CPU.

Intel will stay the major contender and we all know that because they supply over 70% of home and pre-built computers. This will not have a major impact on the competition until next year, when bulldozer is released.
Bulldozer will make intel suffer as ATI made Nvidia suffer.

I have seen here and there that Nvidia is still the teachers pet in the GPU division because you can create custom gaming profiles where as with ATI you can't.

What? How does that help at all?
Nvidia are getting flogged in the market since the 5' series came out, they used a smart strat of "Keep em' powerful and keep em' cheap" The exact thing they are now doing with AMD.
Nvidia tried to keep up with the dx11 boom but couldnt quite cut it, with their new 480's and stuff failing at FPS in alot of games. Eg L4D2.

ATI is far more superior now, in fact the only downside is the terrible drivers ATI makes.

What do you mean by custom gaming profiles anyway?

prob so you can change between: 'I want ze FPS' and 'I have an awesome gaming pc but i want ze power saving'

Edit: In NZ the 1090T costs $500 while the 975 costs $1600

bigger hmmm....
